I am in the process of doing some repairs to our van, things that needed doing after our last trip.
Our van has carpet throughout, which I thought was not good for some areas, so, previously I had laid vinyl on top of the carpet in the kitchen. Although this gave protection against spills, it was not very successful as the vinyl started to buckle and pull away. Now I am in the process of doing the job properly.  I have cut away the carpet and am now ready to lay new, high quality vinyl, glued directly to the wooden floor.
I have repaired the cold tap in the bathroom, which involved replacing the microswitch that activated the pump, and I still need to strengthen the wardrobe door as it is threatening to fall apart.
Externally I have to repair cracks in the plastic A-frame cover, so I'll remove it and patch the cracks from the inside using epoxy and fibreglass matting, epoxy on the outside and a coat of paint and it'll be like new again.
No big trips planned at this stage, but we will get away on short trips locally in a few weeks when the weather warms up a bit.

Home - Monday

We set off quite early from Gin Gin and arrived home at lunchtime looking forward to relaxing for the rest of the day. Alas it was not to be. Sometime while we were away a circuit breaker in our power box tripped and as (bad) luck would have it, it was the one that controlled our fridges and freezers. It must have happened a long time ago as the smell was terrible. We spent all afternoon cleaning the mess out of the freezers and washing them. We have left them open with the power off hoping any residual smell will disappear by the time we get groceries tomorrow.
Lesson learned - empty freezers when going away for an extended trip, it's not going to happen again!
Anyway we are home safe and sound and that's the main thing.

Well that's the end of our trip and the end of this blog, so until our next trip.........

Gin Gin - Sunday

Another great happy hour last night with great people. I'm afraid we got a bit carried away with the drink, so we had a late start this morning and arrived at Gin Gin showgrounds at about 2:30pm. All set up now, so we are ready for our final night and a fairly early start in the morning to set off for home.

Mt Morgan - Saturday

We went to the communal happy hour last night and had a most enjoyable evening. Some of the people we were talking to mentioned that they were going on tour of the gold mine this morning so we decided to book it as well.
It was more than just a tour of the mine and included a tour of points of interest around Mt Morgan as well with a very detailed and descriptive commentary.

The tour took a couple of hours and we were back for a late lunch.
Off tomorrow to Gin Gin for one night then we head for home.

Mt Morgan - Friday

We set off early from St Lawrence traffic was very quiet in our direction, but very busy going north with every second vehicle a caravan or motorhome. We had morning tea in Rockhampton and arrived at Mt Morgan for lunch. It's lovely here, sunny without the wind we've had for the last few weeks.

We are going to happy hour in the lovely rustic camp kitchen this evening (seeing that it's Friday).

St Lawrence - Thursday

Nothing much to put on the blog today. Just a morning walk and a lazy wet day.
Mostly packed up and ready to go in the morning. We are heading to Mt Morgan tomorrow.

St Lawrence - Wednesday

Brrrrr! A bit chilly this morning, down to 7c. Had to put the heater on for the first time for ages, glad it still works.
We went for an early morning walk,

kangaroos all over the place. It's a lovely sunny day today and only a slight breeze for a change. Uh oh, spoke too soon about the wind! Quite gusty now.
The wind died down later and it is now a pleasant evening. We've had our tea and now for a few drinks before bed.
